For Form 4 & 5 only - work in pairs
SPM BK Part 1 Quiz held at Regional Centre (For Wilayah: SMK Wesley Methodist)
Time: 9 am – 11 am
50 objective questions in 40 min. (the whole of Luke and Acts of the Apostles)
Papers will be marked and marks announced the same day. Marks are added together for team, totals to be carried to Part 2.

SPM BK Oral Quiz (Part 2 and Part 3)
Venue: SMJK Katholik, Petaling Jaya

All teams who have taken part in Part 1 enter Part 2 with Part 1 scores. (Maximum 100 marks)

Part 2: 10 short oral questions, answers to be written down, team members can confer. Maximum score is 40 marks.
Part 3 (Semifinals): The top 15 teams from Selangor, top 10 WPKL teams, top 8 teams from Ipoh
BK Quiz, and the top team from each of the other states take part – others are
eliminated.
Semifinals: 7 questions, 5 marks each. Maximum score is 35 marks.
Part 3 (Finals): Top 8 teams from Semifinals.
Begins with 3 speed round questions (Total:15 marks) and
ends with 1 context question (10 marks) where conferring is not allowed.
Maximum score for Finals is 15+10 = 25 marks.

BK 10 QUIZ

 Open to all students from F1 to F6; individual participation.
 Register by 22 July 2010, using BK 10 registration forms (RC2 or RS2)
 Takes place on Aug 14th 2010 in SMJK Katholik – no regionals.
 Students taking part in SPM BK Oral may not register for this quiz.
 All quiz day helpers are required to participate in the BK10 quiz.
 From Luke 1-14 and Chap 1-5 of The Acts of the Apostles.
 Format of quiz: 50 objective questions to be answered in 35 minutes.

AWARDS AND CERTIFICATES:
SPM BK Oral Quiz BK 10 Quiz
 MCSC certificates for all participants
 Challenge trophy for State Champions and personal trophies for top 3 state teams.
 National champions also get MCKL scholarships.  MCSC certificates awarded to all participants.
 Trophies awarded to Top 10 Juniors (Forms 1 – 3); Top 10 Seniors (Forms 4 and 5); Top 3 veterans (F6 and college students)

Next CF will be on 10 Feb (wed) 1.30-2.30pm in 4c. Activity is Bible Discussion... So if you happen to have those teeny weeny bibles, feel free to bring them along... Don't lug the thick ones, though.. Text books are heavy enough! :p

Bible Knowledge Quiz!!!

Hey all! How was exams???

There is going to be a Bible Knowledge Oral(for Form 4 & 5) and Writing Test( for Form 1 to 3) in August. Below are the particulars:
The 13^th SPM Oral BK Quiz (Inter-state) for SPM candidates, 2009

This annual quiz is sponsored by the MCSC and Scripture Union and organised by a committee of secondary school teachers.

Venue: SMK Assunta in Petaling Jaya

Date: 1st August 2009 (Saturday)

(a) SPM ORALQUIZ : BK students (Forms 4 & 5) will participate in Parts 1- 3, covering the books of LUKE & ACTS .

Format of quiz for SPM students:

Part 1 (50 written/objective questions to be answered in 30minutes.)

All teams enter Part 1 and marks from both team members are added and carried to Part 2. Maximum score is 100 marks.

Part 2 (10 short oral questions, answers to be written down, team members can confer)

All teams enter Part 2. The top 30 teams enter Part 3 – others are eliminated.

Maximum score is 40 marks.

Part 3 (short context questions)

Starts with a knock-out round – short answer questions similar to Part 2 above.

Top 5 teams survive to the Finals, where top 3 finalists from Northern Region quiz will also compete. Maximum score for semi-finals is 35 marks

Finals: Begins with speed round questions (15 marks) and end with context questions (10 marks) where conferring is not allowed.

Maximum score for finals is 15+10 = 25 marks.

Participation in Teams of 2 students (both F4 or both F5 or F4 & F5) representing their school.

(b) BK 09 Quiz (individual / open) for students in Forms 1 – 6 / college students, covering only chapters 1-10 of The Acts of the Apostles

Format of quiz: 50 objective questions to be answered in 40 minutes.

Students who register for (a) MAY NOT register for (b) as BK09 is held simultaneously with Part 1 of SPM Oral Quiz.

AWARDS: MCSC certificates (all participants); SPM State trophies & 1^{s t} – 3^rd placings; BK09 Top scorer Awards

(Top 10 Junior –Forms 1 – 3, Top 10 Senior – Forms 4 and above )

Registration Opens: 1^st May 2009 and closes on 15^th July 2009

Take note that:

Our aim is to promote Bible Knowledge as a subject in schools. Hence, our policy is to pair students from the same school in the team event. This will also create fewer problems in the distribution of certificates and in the keeping of challenge trophies.

Mixed-school teams (from the same zone) are only allowed for singles who have no partner from the same school.

Those interested can give their names to Melody Yew (5E), Yen Ping (4A) or the teachers, Pn Ting or Miss Tiffany Tang.

Thanks, Pn Michelle!

For those of you who don’t know (outdated), Pn. Michelle will be leaving us due to school logistic reasons and not because we are the monkeys we are (I hope); for those of you who do know, it doesn’t make any difference, so you can continue mourning.

Umm, even though Pn Michelle was only with us for 1 year, I believe we have collected enough sweet memories to last us quite some time. I remember when she first stepped into our school, everyone was remarking how young and pretty she was (if I’m not mistaken, some of her students called her Michelle Jie, meaning Kak Michelle =P). Then we found out her real age, and our eyes were like saucers. “(Gasp) She can’t be that old!!!”

On behalf of the CF, I would like to thank Pn Michelle for the love and support she has given us this whole year, and for tolerating us ‘giddy goats’! =P I do remember the day when we did sharing at the chalet place, and Pn Michelle closed with a prayer for all of us. I felt that prayer quite meaningful, kinda like it was straight from her heart for us.

We wish Pn Michelle the greatest time of her life in her teaching career regardless where she is posted, and we’ll constantly keep her in our prayers.

God bless Pn. Michelle.

12th National SPM Bible Knowledge Inter-Schools Quiz 2008!

The details of the quiz are as follows:

Date : 2nd August 2008, Saturday
Time : 7.30 a.m - 1.00 p.m
Venue : Hall, SMKJK Katholik, Jalan 10/3 46000 Petaling Jaya. Selangor Darul
Ehsan.
Aim : To promote Bible Knowledge in schools. Hence, our policy is to pair
Students from the same school in the team event. This will also create fewer
problems in the certificates and in the keeping of challenge trophies.

· There will be 2 categories of quiz participants:
a) SPM BK Quiz – teams of two students (both F5 or F4 or F5&F4)

Part 1: All teams enter Part 1.
50 Objective questions to be answered in 30 minutes.
Marks from both team members added and carried to Part 2.
Maximum score is 100 marks.
Part 2: All teams enter part 2.
10 questions requiring short answers will be asked orally. Answers
to be written down. Team members can confer. The top 30 teams
enter Part 3 and others are eliminated. Maximum score is 40
marks.
Part 3: Starts with a knock-out round. Short answers similar to Part 2
above. Top 5 teams survive to the Finals.
Maximum score for semi-finals is 35 marks.
Finals : Begins with speed round questions (15 marks) and end with
context questions (10 marks) where conferring is not allowed.
Maximum score for finals is 15+10= 25 marks.

b) BK08 – individuals participation (any students from F1 – F6/College students) 50 objective questions to be answeredin40 minutes. Runs simultaneously with Part 1 of SPM BK Quiz.

SPM BK Quiz: The Gospel of Luke and the Book of Acts (GNB).
BK08: The speeches of the apostle Paul and Peter in the Book of Acts. (GNB)

· Please register via your school CF. If your school has no CF, you can can
register via your BK Teacher.Take note that there are different registration
forms for registration through school and BK centre. Use the correct
registration form.
· Rules, sample questions, quiz day program, map to quiz venue, ID stickers
and other materials will only be posted out after the closing date for
registration i.e after 15th July 2008. It is important that you provide full
address details when filling in registration forms so that these materials can
reach you by post.
· The registrar would prefer if you can e-mail the names and particulars of
Participants to bkquiz08@yahoo.com to minimize spelling mistakes. Please
supple full names. If you are faxing in/posting us your forms, please ensure
that handwriting is neat & legible.
